Description
This plant usually grows wild in the bush, forest edge, or planted as an ornamental plant and the plant fence. Murraya paniculata can be found up to an altitude of approximately 400 m above sea level. Morphological variation is enormous.
Commonly planted to fence in the yard, usually small-leaved species and abundance.
Shrub or small tree, much branched, 3-8 m tall, stem grooved hard, not spiny. Leaves compound, finned odd with children stemmed leaves, shape ovate or oblong breech, the tip and base of the spike, the edge of the flat, 2-7 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, smooth, glossy, green color, no smell when crushed. Leaves contain cadinene, methyl-anthranilate, bisabolene, β-caryophyllene, geraniol, 3-carene, eugenol, citronellol, methyl-salicylate, s-guaiazulene, osthole, panicullatin, tannins, and coumurrayin. Bark contains mexotioin, 5-7-dimethoxy-8-(2.3-dihydroxyisopentyl) coumarin. Medium containing scopoletin flowers, and fruits contain a semi-α-carotenone.
Portion used
Leaves, twigs and roots. Bark is also efficacious drugs.
How to use
Roots and leaves as much as 9-15 g of dried or fresh leaves as much as 30-60 g, boiled or soaked in wine, then drink.
For external use, finely ground fresh leaves, if dab on a sore spot, or boiled, the water washing untu.
