Rue
(Ruta angustifolia [L.] Pers.)



Tribe: Rutaceae
Crude Name: Rutae herb (Herba rue).

Description
This plant originated from South Europe and North Africa. In Java, a plant that can cause local irritation is often planted in the garden in the mountains to a height of 1000 m above sea level.
Herbaceous plant, grow upright, reaches 1.5 m high, stems woody, cylindrical, slender.
Branches many, weak, all the aromatic when crushed. Leaves compound, pinnate, double, alternate with the child's location or ovate leaves Lancet breech, base narrowed, the tip blunt, flat edge, the bone is not clear, 8-20 mm long, 2-6 mm wide, light green color. Nature and Usefulness
Herbaceous taste spicy, slightly bitter, cold, efficacious as a reliever fever (antipyretic), pain relievers (analgesics), anti-inflammatory, detoxifying (antitoksik), facilitator fart (karrminatif), remove the blood clot, reliever seizures (anticonvulsant), facilitator menstruation (emenagog), abortivum, cleaning the blood, nervous system stimulant and gynecology (uterus), anthelmintic.
Rutae oleum containing essential oils, bitter, pungent and sickening, soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol and ether. Abortivum and rubifasien partially efficacious.

Chemical content
Essential oils containing methyl-nonilketone up to 90%, ketone, pinene, 1-limonena, cineol, rutinat acid, kokusaginin, edulinine, modic acid, rutin, rhamno glikosid, quersetin flavenol, xanthotoxin, a little tannin. Also on the essential oils used in cosmetics, such as making soaps, creams, and perfumes.

Portion used
The whole herb can be used either in the form of fresh or dried. Drying is done by using shade dried. This herbaceous taste sickening.

How to use
As much as 10-15 g of boiled herbs, and drinking.
For external use, fresh herbs milled or squeezing, then rubbed on a sore spot.

Note
o pregnant women are prohibited from using these herbs.
o excessive doses causes signs of Acro-narcotic poison and causes miscarriage in pregnant women.
o several active substances in this herb can cause hypersensitivity against direct sunlight, to prevent redness,
swelling, to severe burns.
o The incidence of dermatitis may occur in some users who are sensitive.
